Thalira returns to Ka'Meyra, a city preserved in amber stillness where resonance pools have not rippled for generations. Her copper-threaded coils are dull with dust, and her pointed ears ache from the curated hum – a silence that isn't peace, but control. Her left palm hides a spiral mark beneath linen. The Preservationist Council refuses to see it.

She finds a silence pocket in the eastern quarter. A child sits at its edge, her ears dead, her lips tracing a single note over and over. The Ministry calls it an isolated incident. Thalira knows the truth: the Silence is spreading.

Expelled from the Council and hunted by Ministry Arbiters, she descends into the old Builder vaults with a handful of acolytes. Below, a frozen body lies with hands tracing counter-clockwise spirals – just like the child. Just like Kae'lor.
