Thalira, an outcast marked by a forbidden spiral on her palm, returns to Ka'Meyra as a witness to the truth. Having seen the collapse of the Ministry's towers in the outer lands, she knows that the city's leadership is built on a foundation of lies. While the Preservationists desperately try to weaponize the Hollowing and the radical Purists seek to destroy all resonance in a fanatical bid for survival, Thalira searches for a different path.

Joined by Vrenn, an orc miner whose heartbeat has begun to synchronize with the rhythmic pressure of the earth itself, Thalira descends into the forbidden vaults beneath the city. What they uncover is a legacy older than the Builders, a secret buried by those who sought to control the world's very foundation. With the city on the brink of civil war and a primeval force stirring deep beneath the stone, Thalira must decide if she will follow the path of control, the path of destruction, or the impossible path of learning to listen to a frequency that was never meant to be heard.
