Vekki never wanted to be an archivist. She sits on stained cushions in her Tikkari market stall, selling copper charms and cheap lies to tourists. Her fur is patchy, her oversized ears torn, and her tail curls around her feet out of habit. She keeps her head down.

Then a silence pocket opens in the spice aisle. Her niece – twelve years old, still soft-furred – walks into the void and comes out humming. A single note. Her ears dead. Her hands tracing spirals she was never taught.

The Ministry calls it a geothermal anomaly. Vekki calls it murder.

Together, they uncover the Archive of the Dead – a hidden chamber of resonance stones that hold the voices of the departed. The archive is not a library. It's a debate. And the dead are still arguing.

As the marked gather at the mouth of the seventh drift, Kae'lor's brother digs deeper toward the Giants' seal. The scream is breaking through. Vekki must decide what she's willing to lose to preserve the truth – and whether her niece will ever wake up.
